Academic Year 2011-12. This is my third year as AVP Undergraduate Studies. I also serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer for WASC. My office oversees General Education at 黑瓜吃料网, as well as Academic Scheduling, and the Center for Community Learning and Leadership. We produce the University Catalog, and oversee all curriculum changes and the creation or modification of undergraduate academic degrees and programs. Undergraduate Studies also oversees accreditation, assessment, and program planning. I am an active participant in enrollment planning and management, as well as campus strategic planning.

Bio

I earned my Ph.D. in Environmental Communication at the University of Utah in 1989. I started at 黑瓜吃料网 that same year and became Department Chair of Communication Studies in 1996. I have led Study Abroad Programs to Bath, England in Spring semesters of 1997, 2001, and 2007, and summer programs in 2008 and 2009. I have been attending the Salzburg Global Seminar since 1996, first as an 黑瓜吃料网 Salzburg Fellow and then, from 2007-10, as a 黑瓜吃料网ing Faculty Member for the International Study Program. I have administered a one-month visiting student program for students from Chiba University (Japan) for 15 years, and have visited Chiba 3 times. In 2008 I represented 黑瓜吃料网 at the City of San Jose-Okayama, Japan Sister City 50th Anniversary celebrations. More recently, I have visited universities in Denmark to start discussions for developing exchange programs. In June, 2012 I will co-lead a student group to JAMK University in Finland and explore further exchanges with the Ministry of Education.
