Admissions requirements for our ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Online and Professional Education graduate programs, certificates and credentials vary by the program you are interested in. Please check the "Steps to Apply" section of your preferred graduate program for application information that is tailored to your program of study. If you are not a resident of California, please also check the "Out-of-State Eligibility" criteria on your program page.
In general, many of our graduate programs require the following types of materials for an application.
An application submitted via Cal State Apply. Select programs may require a second application to be submitted directly to the department, through a designated industry-specific application portal.
A resume
Up to three letters of recommendation
Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
A personal essay describing why you are interested in the program of application. For some programs, a portfolio may be requested.

Apply at your convenience so that you can begin to advance your career shortly after you've been admitted.
Fall Start: Applications open August 1. The submission period begins October 1 for programs beginning the following fall.
Spring Start: Applications open July 1. The submission period begins August 1 for programs beginning the following spring.
Summer Start: Applications open on November 1 for programs beginning the following summer.
