Activity 4: Model Transfer Curriculum Pathways

In Activity 4, David Parent works with ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Faculty Members from Engineering and Computer Science to develop model transfer and articulation agreements between ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø and the two community college partners: SJCC and Gavilan. These transfer plans are for students coming from Gavilan and SJCC to our ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø programs. They will be similar to the 4 and 5-year plans we have for native ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø students in our programs, except we develop the plan so that the students knew what to take at SJCC and Gavilan.

Each degree program will create a document that has:

  • A four-year graduation plan for SJCC and Gavilan that includes GE.
  • A five-year graduation plan for SJCC and Gavilan that includes GE.
  • A section on common substitutions
    • Example: C++ courses counting for EE30, ENGR 10 substitutions.
  • A section on any issues that make it difficult for students to transfer.
    • Example: Gavilan does not have an ENGR 10 class at this time.
  • A section that has a brief introduction to the major.

Once each program establishes its 4 and 5-year plans, we will work with SJCC and Gavilan to finalize and implement these plans for future transfer students.
