Ch谩vez, Huerta, Itliong Month

Annually, the CCCAC hosts Ch谩vez, Huerta, Itliong Month (CHI Month) in March to honor our namesake C茅sar Ch谩vez during this Birthday month. It's purpose is to commemorate the historic decision to begin the Delano Grape Strike, which was launched through the partnership of C茅sar Ch谩vez, Dolores Huerta, and Larry Itliong.

The month-long celebration consists of CHI Day of Celebration, and a series of programs and events that address and honor the life and legacy of C茅sar Ch谩vez, continuing injustices farm workers are experiencing, and environmental/food justice topics.

About the Film: Winner of "Best Documentary" in the Cinequest Film Festival, American Agitators explores themes of patience and deep listening in community organizing. The film focuses on Fred Ross Sr., who organized Dust Bowl refugees, Japanese-Americans after internment, and built the Community Service Organization (CSO) and United Farm Workers (UFW). In addition to Ross, the film features Dolores Huerta, Cesar Chavez, and Fred Ross Jr.

Donation Drive: The Hands That Feed Us
March 5 - March 19th [See Drop Off Times]
All donations will go to the Hands that Care - Bay Area and be distributed to about 150 Central Coast California farm laborers from Mexico and South America. Items Needed: Gently used clothing, shoes of all sizes, blankets, personal hygiene products, PPE (sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, bandanas), new undergarments and socks, canned food and packaged snack items.
