ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes

ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes is a nonpartisan voter registration, mobilization, education and civic engagement initiative, created as a class active-learning project in 2018. It is now housed in the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (IPACE) and is managed by ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø faculty and students. Various political science classes still help to manage ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes as an active-learning class project. ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes works with campus and community partners such as the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Center for Community Learning & Leadership, the California Secretary of State’s office, the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Office of the President, LEAD Filipino, the League of Women Voters, Pi Sigma Alpha Epsilon Iota chapter, Associated Students, the Asian Law Alliance, elected local, state, and national officials’ offices, and many others..
ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes works on nonpartisan GOTV (get out the vote) projects and other civic engagement projects in the campus and community. It has sponsored or co-sponsored voter workshops, ballot proposition forums, debate watch parties, candidate forums, door-to-door canvassing, and other excellent events.
The signature ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes event is the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes Festival, celebrating National Voter Registration Day. This event is held in the fall semester. ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes and IPACE are hosting the 5th ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes Festival on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025 on the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Smith/Carlos Lawn from 10am-3pm. During this event celebrating National Voter Registration Day, ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Votes, IPACE, and multiple campus and community partners will provide nonpartisan information about voter registration, voting, voting rights, and civic engagement opportunities.
